Wordy Wednesday: Summertime Memories

Well, this summer has been one full of fun and adventure. It's hard to believe that it's already over.

Really, summer? Really. You left us so quickly...

But there are so many fun memories to be held close as we head into the Autumn season {which is one of my very favorite seasons, btw.}

It's been such a blessing to spend time with Renaissance and my sweet Scoot these last few months.

To try to remain cool in our 1930's cottage...   to watch baby girl grow, explore and learn...    to spend time dreaming, hoping and planning with Renaissance about the things that we want to do and be in this lifetime, Lord willing.

If I had to choose my favorite memory of the summer, it would have to be taking Scoot to the Gulf of Mexico for the first time. You see, my family always travels to Cape San Blas, Florida at the end of the season to send the summertime out with a bang. I always love this special time. We've been doing it since I was in high school. Now, to be able to bring my sweet Scoot back and have three generations of our family there was just such a strange... and wonderful... experience!

Well, we pretty much just bummed it up all week! No plans... no expectations... We just did what we wanted, when we wanted to. A very hedonistic lifestyle for a bunch of normally responsible people! I cannot imagine a more perfect week if I tried. So here's the recap:

 {We swam in the ocean}

 {We posed in the sand}

 {We loved all the water}

 {Scoot just had to stand}

 {Had to marvel at the view}

 {Sat in a tent with Dad, it's true}

 {Aunt Sus made yummy pie}

 {Scoot and Papa, my oh my!}

 {Played Chicken Foot... you really should}

 {Drank espresso... it's really good}

 {That's Gigi... there's no other}

 {Big hats gave lots of cover}

 {Maybe we were bums}

 {But the girls all got to come}

{Lots of snuggles hand in hand}

 {So glad for sunsets by the sand}

So there's my corny poem! I really didn't intentionally begin rhyming, but it happened...
