Embrace the Camera: Now or Never!

Lately, I have not loved being IN pictures. I guess it's an insecurity thing since I am currently at the largest that I have ever been. . . for a good reason. Now, I don't say the following to get comments on how I look or for reassurance. I just plan to be vulnerable on this blog about life, and how I'm living it.

AND I wouldn't take back any of those midnight bowls of Moosetracks or the after dinner dinner during my pregnancy. I know I should probably want to take them back, but I don't! You see, there were complications. For a few months I have been unable to eat anything but soups, pudding, etc. I am twelve weeks out from when my beauty was born, and I am only now getting back to eating normal foods, so it all balances out.

NOW, however, I am striving to get in shape. I want to be healthy and to desire to be outside with my small sweet family. It's not my nature to want to be an "outside girl." I love the indoors, just reading, cooking, snuggling and sleeping. Let's be honest - I could be a hermit and be just fine. But our family is doing it. We are outside for at least an hour every day. We are succeeding. . . little by little. . . day by day. Spring is definitely helping.

ALL of this craziness rambling dialogue to get back to the original point. I don't LOVE being in pictures. Just don't.

But I need to change that.

So I am taking up this challenge:

Linking up with The Anderson Crew

to embrace the camera on Thursdays is something that may be a little difficult for me, but I'm going to do my best!

For my family and our memories. . .

For my precious little girl {and hopefully other kiddos} to see how much I love her and her daddy....

Because I know that I am loved and valued just as I am. . .

Here is our little family taken on my husband's birthday.

I love this picture, mostly because it has the two of them in it!!

SO. . . embrace the camera!   Embrace life!   Don't let the little insignificant things get you down.

Let today be the day that the Lord reminds you that you are precious. . . just the way you are!

"I will say to the North, 'Give them up!' and to the South, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth - everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made!"           ~ Isaiah 43:6-7 ~

  3. I love the verse at the end. I am feeling the same way. I haven't been as active as I'd like because of various reasons. I would like to be healthier. But as a mom to two girls, I want to show them that you should always love yourself. You can always strive for good health, but look at yourself and be glad of what you see - for God made us this way.

  5. Mother Father!

You know the camera shows us who we already are. We may "feel" awkward about it, yet, all the people that love us - they see that every day; and they don't think it's awkward. They see our double chins, our awkward one earlobe lower than the other, the bulge about the belt line, etc...

It's one part vanity on our part, one part fear, one part lack of trust. We must remember that the Ultimate Beauty - the face of God - is the standard. We will always be lesser beauties, and beauty is not merely a physical attribute - that saying is indeed wrong, that beauty is in the eye of the beholder - but a reflection of the gravity of the verity that is the reality of God, His Goodness, His Beauty. Beauty as a modifier to physical attraction alone, is like scrap for a dog. Not that it doesn't have it's place. It's a treat for the hound. But it is not his home, and it is not the love of the master.

Embrace the moments with your family and loved ones, and you will embrace the camera. For they'll want those pictures when you are old and gone.

    Shalom, sister Mary Francis.
