The Snowy Day {Explained} + Too Many Pictures

{Preface: This post has lots of pictures. Sorry about that. I got carried away!}

It happened.

Here.

IT HAPPENED, HERE!!

Snow. That's right, snow.

Not just wintry mix {blah to that stuff, btw}...

but fluffy, crunchy, put-your-skis-on snow!

Never have I ever seen such thick and delightful stuff in South Georgia!

When the Scoot woke me up yesterday morning {at 6:00, no less} and we headed to our window to check the scene I could not believe my eyes!!

I quickly made a checklist in my head of the various accoutrements that we would be needing.

Leggings, pants, socks, undershirts, shirts, jackets, gloves, hats, scarves, rain boots, etc.

x 3...

It would be x 4, but Renaissance was sick and holed up in the guest bedroom. He actually didn't even emerge until much later in the day. Even then, he got a bit of sustenance and went back to bed. Poor man.

So the girls and I were on our on for an adventurous day. Sweets quickly showed her colors.

Anti-snow. That's right. Little Sweets {accidentally} got a handful of snow and called it quits for the day.

After that, Scoot and I were barred to nap time exploring. Thank goodness Sweets takes two long naps a day.

We made snow angels, walked around to see our footprints, created a {teensy} snowman, threw snowballs at each other, gathered snow and made snow cream, watched a family of cardinals and played with {and destroyed} icicles {which I'm a little obsessed with.}

It was an unusually magical day.

I'm so thankful for days like these... Days when we can slow down and make memories about an extraordinary occurrence in our lives.

At the end of this day, Scoot said "We had a fun day together didn't we, Mama?"

Yes, my love, we certainly did.

I thought to myself how silly am I that I can actually hear the Lord saying...Slow down and make memories today! And, we did just that! Obviously, you all did too! Thanks for sharing all your pretty pics!
