And So It Begins...

For awhile now, my mind has been frantically rolling through my educational goals for Scoot for the next year.

We're not sure that we're going to send her to any sort of preschool.

We're actually not sure that we're going to send her to school at all.

We're leaning towards the wonderful world of homeschooling.

In light of this, I have been checking out all kinds of options.

I'm so thankful that the Lord led me to the curriculum that we decided on.

We are using 1+1+1=1's Raising Rock Stars, and I am just in love!!

Carissa is a missionary mom homeschooling her sweet children in inner-city Philadelphia {a place that is VERY dear to my heart} and she has developed such an amazing homeschooling blog!

Everything on her website is free to print and use! Everything! It's just amazing, really!

The curriculum that I've started with Scoot is her preschool set, which she's named Raising Rock Stars based off of Philippians 2:15 {shine like stars} and Matthew 7:34 {build on the Rock.}

We began on Monday, and Scoot is just soaking up all that the Stanford School of Learning has to offer... hehe

It's such a beautifully simply curriculum that allows the student to enjoy the process. This first week includes:

Letter - L
Sight Word - See
Number - 1
Shape - Circle
Color - Yellow

I am seriously in love, y'all! I was nervous about how to begin this journey, but Carissa's blog has made this such a great transition!

I look forward to updating more about what we are learning in our homeschooling adventure.

For now, here are a few pictures from our second day at it!

This is our weekly board with our highlights for the week:
- Memory verse
- Application ideas
- Weekly Song
- Letter, Sight word, Number
- Various cards for reinforcement

Did I mention that I LOVE IT!!
