Reminder {I need one}

Sorry I've been MIA lately. Motherhood... ya know. Wife hood... you get it.

Things have been {often, equal parts} exciting, exhausting, crazy, still, quiet and delightful around here.

You understand. You've been there. Maybe you're there right now.

My precious two-and-a-half-year-old and my sweet {almost} four-month-old bring me such joy!

My home is my heart.

Sometimes, though... well, actually often, I have to ask the Lord to remind me of His vision for my mission field... motherhood. You see, I so often don't recall the truth.

The truth that the Lord's will for me at this season in my life is to be present - really present - with my girls... in my home...

each...

moment.

The truth that by doing laundry, changing diapers, unloading the dishwasher, chasing Scoot around the house and singing Sass to sleep I'm bringing Him glory. The truth that these things matter, and matter greatly, in the scheme of things.

It's so very easy for me to look at the world around me. So easy for me to see those mommies who are out in their careers contributing to society... actually using their expensive college degrees... helping to meet their families' financial needs...

Please don't get me wrong. I love those mommies. Working mom, you go girl!

But, for me, I know where the Lord has placed me for this season.

Remind me each moment, Lord, that I'm where you have me. Loving, teaching, guiding and correcting these two eager little people... the people you've given me. Teach me more about yourself through them. Make me more like you.

Well, I'm off to do a load of laundry... then on to my people.

Praying that your mission field is extremely blessed this day!

  2. She forgot to mention how very well she performs this calling! The LORD has blessed her with this passion and she works it out everyday - showing our girls Christ-like service in all she does. I am more than blessed to call this woman - bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. I love you!
