Just to recap the 2009 holidays...

Soooo.... I know that I haven't blogged in quite awhile. Still getting into the hang of all that the blogging world has to offer.

By the way, 2010! I can't believe that it came in such a rush. I feel like I flew through Thanksgiving with my family, Christmas with Will's family, and New Year's in South Carolina with my Aunt and Uncle and my precious cousin Bella.

Our Christmas card is below:

That sweet pup is our dog Tucker. Will got him for me during the Christmas of 2008. He ran away during the holidays while being babysat, and I'm totally heartbroken. I've been to the Montgomery Humane Society about 7 times, and they have yet to see him. If you think about it, say a prayer for him... even if we never find him, I want him to be safe and healthy.

We have some changes happening in our lives right now. With the arrival of 2010 came some adjustments for the Montgomery Stanfords. We have our house listed and are hoping to sell, we have started the Atkins diet to get healthy, and since the Cabrio died last week, we are now the owners of a new to us/used 2003 Toyota Camry! More pictures to come this week of the new ride. It is truly fabulous. The Lord provided for us in a huge way showing us exactly which vehicle to choose, and then getting us a deal!

I am committed this year to blogging more about my experimentation in cooking, sewing, knitting, quilting, and all sorts of crafting. I want to learn to make and do things for myself, the way that the women who helped to found this country did. Also, I want to remember these wonderful days of being young and married in a sweet little house with my precious husband. The Lord is teaching me daily the value of waking up each day thankful for the moments that he has for me. In all situations, I want to be a woman whose motto is Psalm 73:26 "My heart and flesh may fail, but the Lord is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Cause let's be honest... my heart and my flesh fail, and they fail often, but the Lord is constantly strong and faithful. Praise be to God!

To close, these are late, but here are some pictures of our house at Christmas:

  1. Mary Frances, before you guys start the Atkins diet, I highly recommend you read the book 'Nourishing Trditions' by Sally Fallon. I applaud you for your desire to be healthier. It's a wise decision which God will bless. But as someone who has done the Atkins diet before, I can tell you that it is not a healthy diet. Dr. Atkins himself died obese. Read the book! :)

    God's Peace,
    Melissa
